sunday, week zero
[It's only to be expected that he needed a walk to clear his head after everything they'd been told had been allowed to sink in.
After all... it's a pretty hefty thing to hear. Even for someone like him, who is constantly dealing with murders...it's quite a lot.
Eventually, he does find his way to the kitchen, if only to find something to feed to Constantine, faithfully waiting for him back in his room--and he's only mildly surprised to find it already occupied.
Ah.]
Good evening. I recall meeting with you the first day.

Good evening. I recall meeting with you the first day.
gaaaah i'm so sorry for the wait OTL
That's why she's here in the middle of the night. She's got something in the oven, apparently - the kitchen smells faintly of cooking potatoes - and she keeps peeking at it, unsure of how to tell exactly when it's done since she's unfamiliar with some of the appliances in here.
When she hears footsteps and a voice, she turns, and then smiles when she recognizes him.]
Oh, it's you! [Thank goodness, he's not one of the scary ones.] Did you get hungry, too?
NO WORRIES we've got plenty of time
[He gestures to the poofball dog following him, who just barks at Sei cheerfully.]
Constantine, however, requires a proper meal.
[He sure loves his dog too much.]
I shall attempt to keep out of your way, however.

He's adorable...! Hi, Constantine!
[And she immediately heads on over and kneels down to make the dog's acquaintance.]
What sorts of things does he like to eat?

As for the rest--]
Some dried meat or similar shall be perfectly suitable, if you have seen any of the like around here.
no subject
Dried...? Oh, I think I saw something labeled beef jerky earlier!
[And she shoots off to rummage around for it... a few moments later she emerges triumphant.]
Here it is!

Thank you very much. You have been quite helpful for Constantine's sake.
[Look how happy this dog is to eat jerky.]

[Sei admires the cute little dog for a moment or two before returning her attention to Barnham.]
And what about you - are you hungry? Dogs aren't the only ones who need to eat around here, you know!
no subject
[So he's fine... though Sei is cute.]
I suppose it must be in your nature, to be so concerned for others you have only just met.

[She laughs, a little embarrassed.]
We're all in the same situation, so we should try to help each other out if we can. And not everyone is good at cooking, but I enjoyed doing it back home, so...

Still.]
That does not mean it does not come naturally to you.
[He smiles a little despite himself.]
Take pride in it. It is a valuable and admirable trait.
